Through our network of branches in Kilkenny County Council Library Service, we deliver an educational and awareness programme, on climate action, sustainability, biodiversity and the circular economy, by providing workshops, information clinics, books, digital resources, educational programmes, and events for festivals/themes (e.g. Science Week, Sustainable Development Goals Week etc)                                       

We empower communities, through the Library Service, to reduce consumption and waste by facilitating the borrowing of books, tools and other items;  hosting repair and up/recycling workshops; and providing makerspace technology (3D printers and sewing machines) to reuse and repurpose goods.

Home Energy Saving kits (x8)-available for loan throughout our library branch network.

Esker Kits (x2)- Environmental Science Kits for Ecological Recording boxes contain a range of equipment from insect collection nets to magnifying glasses and contain several NBDC species swatches to assist individuals and community groups to collect valuable data which contributes to the preservation of biodiversity and support citizen science engagement .
